At Pieter Smit we employ a number of actions to help us reduce our carbon footprint. Many of these actions result in us also saving ourselves money.

Over the last ten years we have started to use geothermal heating systems for our new buildings located in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In The Netherlands, we have also started to install PV units in our buildings. At the moment we harvest ca 122 Mw in a year, with plans to expand this year.

For trucking we offer customers a solution that helps to minimise their carbon footprint by utilising HVO Diesel.

Even employing small measures such as proper tyre pressure can help to limit waste and save money!
