Babé Sila is a Budapest-born singer-songwriter and musician based in South East London.
After being hailed as the queen of R&B in her native country she decided to take the next step and began working in Berlin / New York City on her collaborations before moving to London to increase exposure and establish her creative community abroad.
Growing up in a multicultural environment and years of honing her songwriting helped her find her individual sound and find confidence in realising her own artistic visions. From a young age she was inspired by artists like Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys, Sade and Aretha Franklin.
Her delicate vocals and soulful lyrics float effortlessly over head nodding beats, deep bass-lines and warm chords. Storytelling is her way of processing emotions and preserving memories. Her lyricism favours honesty, fragility, and plays with the duality of being soft and expressive at the same time.
Her soulful creations are best enjoyed with open windows and warm breezes.
Babé will perform as part of the HOTS showcase:
20:45 – 21:45
