That there was any live music at all in 2020 is a tribute to the resilience and ingenuity of the international concert industry, with countless promoters, festival organisers and events professionals having devised ever-more inventive ways to help fans connect with their favourite artists over the past 12 months. However, while socially distanced concerts allowed the show to go on in difficult circumstances, half-full venues have never made sense financially. Now, a year on from the great shutdown of March 2020, what mitigation measures can we put in place to allow shows to go ahead at full capacity, and what strategies are there to get back up to full speed as quickly as possible? From practicalities such as rapid testing and contact tracing, to the broader roadmap over the next 12 months, just how does the business move on from Covid-19?
