One silver lining in the massive corona-cloud that was 2020, was the newly collegiate atmosphere that permeated much of the live business, with traditional rivals finding themselves working together to lobby governments and develop a pan-industry response to getting concerts going again. In many markets, associations have proved their worth, so as the business restarts, will this collaborative attitude continue? And as many pan-European and international initiatives have seen results, is there an argument for an international live music industry body – an IFPI of the concert business – to serve as a unified front for any further crises ahead?
